We strive to create a rewarding and inclusive work environment, by rewarding team and individual performance, in addition to offering our employees competitive compensation and benefits. **Summary** **POSITION LOCATION MAY BE IN OH RENO, WV MORGANTOWN, OR LA GLOSTER** The Roughneck A position is responsible for performing various manual labor tasks associated with the safe and efficient operation of a rig site under the direct supervision of the Driller. + Performs rig up and rig down activities as assigned. + Performs "nippling up” or “nippling-down" of all rig equipment. + Performs general repairs and maintenance on major and minor rig components. + Conducts assigned activities on the rig floor. + Assists the (Assistant Driller) Derrickman with mud-mixing duties. + Performs emergency procedures. + Ensures that work carried out is in compliance with company policies and procedures andaccording to safety regulations. + Work is normally performed out-of-doors, where exposure to atmospheric conditions of extreme heat or cold, fumes, and gases are frequent. Exposure to noise, vibration, high pressure, moving/mechanical parts, electrical shock, chemical and caustic materials is common in the normal performance of the duties associated with this position. + The work of this position requires frequent contact with drilling personnel to give and exchange information. + The work of this position requires manual dexterity to operate drilling tools. + The work of this position involves the frequent movement of up to 100 lbs. to lift, push, pull or carry equipment. + Reaching, climbing and balancing is required to climb flights of stairs, vertical ladders up to 140 feet high and reach and handle equipment. + Vision and depth perception skills are required to supervise and monitor equipment and conditions on rig. + High school diploma, GED, or the equivalent + Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills + Ability to follow oral or written instructions to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision + Ability to interact with others in a team environment + Minimum training requirements: Health, Safety and Environment Orientation and Rig Specific Start Up Training + 0-6 months prior experience in procedures associated with drilling a well. + Will be required to pass all pre-employment requirements including a physical demands and drug-screening test along with a thorough background and motor vehicle record check _Southwestern Energy Company is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
